The economy matters—because financial security makes everything else possible.
Right now, too many families are being squeezed by rising costs: healthcare, food, housing, and property taxes. Retirees and working families feel it most. We need representatives who spend public dollars wisely, keep property taxes low, and plan housing and infrastructure so growth lowers costs instead of driving them up. Large corporations and the ultra-wealthy must pay their fair share, renters must be protected, schools and educators properly funded, and healthcare must move away from a for-profit system toward one that puts people first.
People deserve to feel safe—without fear or division.
From unsafe roads and overdoses to crime and family separation, too many issues are driven by chaos, neglect, and political theater. We need leadership that lowers the temperature, focuses on real solutions, and makes communities safer for everyone. That means smart transportation planning, accountable policing, access to treatment and recovery, and investments that prevent harm before it happens.
Our environment is not optional—it’s our responsibility.
We must protect clean water, wildlife, and ecosystems, including salmon habitat. Polluters should be held accountable, and tribes and low-income communities must never bear the cost of environmental damage. Investing in clean and renewable energy creates jobs while protecting our future.
Freedom and dignity belong to everyone.
Everyone should be free to live authentically, love who they love, and make their own healthcare decisions. Reproductive rights must be protected, discrimination banned, and church and state kept separate. Extremism and racism must be confronted, not ignored. Immigrants deserve a fair and expanded path to citizenship.
Opportunity should expand—not shrink—with each generation.
Whether through college, technical training, apprenticeships, military service, or on-the-job learning, young people need real pathways to success. Government should help build new labor markets and opportunities at the local and state level so everyone can contribute, grow, and do better than the generation before them.
